PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS AT THIS TIME
I tutor Algebra1, Algebra2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Math Analysis and Calculus.
I often find that Algebra2 students (and sometimes Precalculus students) have problems, not because of the current work, but because they are falling over Algebra1 concepts. I then help them to catch up on their Algebra1, while also working on the current work. I have also helped students who were busy with Geometry and not having problems with it, to catch up on their Algebra1. This also helped them to have their Algebra1 fresh in their minds when they started with Algebra2.
Another topic that is very important, and which becomes ever more important the further one progresses with math, is the topic of graphs. Graphs have the advantage of making algebraic concepts visual, which is a very big help in understanding the work and in helping to solve problems. Many students do better in Geometry than in Algebra, precisely because Geometry is visual, while Algebra is very abstract. Graphs can overcome this, and make Algebra visual as well. I therefore make sure that my students have a very solid grasp of graphs very early on.
